AFF Level 7

This is your graduation jump! You will only have one instructor with you, and you will dive from the airplane. The freefall learning objectives are to exit the airplane in a stable position, recover unassisted from unstable body positions, display upper body awareness and control, move forward towards the airport, maintain stability and altitude awareness, and wave off at 4500 ft and deploy your main parachute.

    • Front-riser turns (very gentle)

Freefall TLO's
  • Diving exit to stable position
  • Altitude Awareness
  • Unstable maneuver and recovery
  • Maintain stability and heading during track
  • Unassisted waveoff and pull at 4,500 feet
Canopy TLO's
  • Choose landing pattern
  • Gentle front-riser turns above 1,000 feet
  • Keep aware and clear of other canopies
  • Fly landing pattern (radio standby)
  • Flared landing (radio standby)

Dive Flow:

  • Instructor may climb out first or follow student
  • Ready, set, go!
  • Diving exit
  • Check altitude
  • Turn to instructor
  • Front loop, recover to original heading
  • Check altitude
  • 360 degree turn to the right
  • Check altitude
  • 360 degree turn to the left
  • Check altitude
  • Front loop, recover to original heading
  • Check altitude:
    • If above 6,500 feet, Track toward airport (stop by 5,000 feet)
    • If at or below 6,000 feet, short circles (heading, altitude)
  • 4,500 feet - wave off and Pull!
    • (Arch, reach, throw, check, "1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000")
  • Check canopy
    • (Square, Stable, Steerable)
