AFF Level 2
The freefall learning objectives for level two are to relax and fall
stable in an arched position; maintain altitude, heading,
and body position awareness; feel wind pressure, and wave
off at 5000ft and deploy the main parachute. Under
canopy, you will be expected to perform a "SSS" canopy check,
three practice flares, and locate the airport. Your jumpmaster
will assist you by radio as you follow your predetermined
downwind, base, and final landing
approach into the designated student area.
Freefall TLO's
- Relaxed Arch
- Altitude Awareness
- Heading awareness
- Body position awareness and wind pressure
- 90 degree turn
- Forward movement
- Maintain stability
- Unassisted waveoff and pull at 5,000 feet

Canopy TLO's
- Understand landing pattern
- Keep aware and clear of other canopies
- Fly landing pattern (with some radio help)
- Flared landing (with some radio help)

Dive Flow:
- Climb out
- Hotel check
- "Check in",("OK"),"Check out", ("OK")
- Exit count
- (Prop! Up, down, arch, arch, arch!)
- Circle of Awareness
- Heading, Altitude, Reserve, (OK), Main, (OK))
- 2 practice throws (Pulls)
- (Arch, reach, throw, check)
- 2nd circle of awareness
- Turn 90 degrees right, check altitude
- Forward movement for 3 seconds, check altitude
- On each altitude check:
- If above 6,500 feet, continue with turns (in opposite directions) and forward motion.
- If at or below 6,500 feet, shake head indicated no more maneuvers
- 6,000 feet - lock onto altimeter
- 5,000 feet - wave off and Pull!
- (Arch, reach, throw, check, "1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000")
- Check canopy
- (Square, Stable, Steerable)
